British American Railway Services

British American Railway Services (BARS) is a British train operating company, specialising in locomotive and rolling stock hire and maintenance. It was formed to acquire the assets of ECT Rail Holdings in 2008 by Iowa Pacific Holdings, an American shortline railroad holding company. [1]

Subsidiaries of BARS include RMS Locotec, Hanson Traction, Weardale Railway, Dartmoor Railway, and Devon and Cornwall Railways (DCR), which is an embryonic open access operator. [2]

56311 Was on a trial run on 9th July 2011 in the Grimsby Area, for a new service.
